Coming off an impressive 49-10 win over Tennessee, top ranked Alabama returns to Tuscaloosa to face sixth ranked Texas A&M.

Both teams enter the game undefeated and are looking for the upper hand in getting to the SEC Championship Game and a potential College Football Playoff spot.

Going into Saturday’s clash at Bryant Denny Stadium, here are three things you should know about the Texas A&M Aggies.

No. 1 Rushing Offense in the SEC

While the receiving corps and quarterback Trevor Knight receives most of the attention on offense for the Aggies, it’s the rushing attack that has helped Texas A&M achieve their 6-0 start to the season.

Texas A&M leads the SEC in rushing yards per game (274.3) and yard per carry (6.8 yards/carry). Leading the way on the ground for the Aggies is true freshman Trayveon Williams. Williams is third in the SEC with 704 yards rushing and is second in the conference with an average of 8.6 yards per carry.

Speaking of quarterback Trevor Knight, the transfer signal caller leads the SEC with 9 rushing touchdowns and has racked up over 500 yards on the ground. Over the last three games, Knight eclipsed the 100 yards rushing against Arkansas and Tennessee.

Bringing in the Beef

When you think of an SEC opponent with a big offensive line, Arkansas might be the first team to come to mind.

This season, Texas A&M has the second heaviest offensive line in school history averaging 311 pounds per position. Among their probable starters up front, the shortest offensive lineman are center Erik McCoy and left guard Colton Prater at 6-4. Prater is also the leanest offensive lineman among the starters at 295 pounds.

Success on the Road

As Kyle Field has gained a reputation as one of the loudest home atmospheres in college football, the Texas A&M has experienced their greatest success under Kevin Sumlin on the road.

Since his arrival in 2012, the Aggies have a 21-7 record in games away from Kyle Field including a 14-6 record in true road games. The 21 wins away from home account for half of Sumlin’s 42 total victories at Texas A&M.
