The Alabama football team held its final practice of the 2013 spring season on Thursday in shorts and helmets. The session lasted approximately two hours at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

“We’ve really had a good week this week,” said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. “The players seemed to practice with a lot more intensity on Tuesday and today, paying better attention to detail and doing some of the things we need them to do to get better as a team. It’s pretty simple. You have a plan to follow, and either you do it or you don’t. This team is going to be defined by what they do.”

The annual Golden Flake A-Day game is slated to kick off at 2 p.m. CT at Bryant-Denny Stadium and will air nationally on ESPN2. Dave Neal and Todd Blackledge will have the call from the booth and will be joined by Maria Taylor on the sidelines.

The game will have a similar format to years past, with the first-team offense and second-team defense on one team, and the first-team defense and second-team offense on the other.

“We are really looking forward to Saturday,” added Saban. “I think it’s a great opportunity for a lot of our players. The weather Saturday is supposed to be great. The players really appreciate the support, and the message that gets sent by the great support that our team gets has something that has helped us be successful here in terms of the kinds of players we are able to recruit because they love being a part of this and expect to see the best when they come to Alabama.”
