Tuscaloosa County EMA invites the public to join them for an afternoon devoted to severe weather preparation. You'll be able to join the EMA at Home Depot off of 15th Street in Tuscaloosa from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. for this special event.

EMA personnel will be on hand to help program NOAA weather radios and offer advice to help you and your family establish your severe weather plan. They'll have a meteorologist on hand and information on how you can register to become a trained National Weather Service Storm Spotter.

The Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue will have information on fire safety and smoke and carbon detectors, and the American Red Cross will have their emergency response vehicle on hand.

The event is part of Alabama's Severe Weather Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday which runs from midnight Friday, February 24, to Sunday, February 26, 2017.
