The NCAA has come down on the University of North Carolina today, charging the school with five level 1 violations, including lack of institutional control.

The NCAA released the Notice of Allegations two weeks ago in response to the misconduct surrounding the UNC football, women's basketball, and men's basketball teams, of which involved a lack of institutional control and providing impermissible benefits to the student athletes, mainly from counselors giving improper help and offering "special arrangements" for the formerly named African and Afro-American Studies course.

Today, the 59-page document was made public by the university, and UNC has 90 days to respond to the allegations, meet with the NCAA to hear the ruling of the potential penalties.

How this will actually impact the university has yet to be determined, but judging by the charge of "lack of institutional control," one can only assume that major punishments will be enforced by the NCAA in the near future on the Tar Heel program.
