Hopes were high coming into the 2018 season under new leadership, and the Brad Bohannon era has yet to disappoint in Tuscaloosa.

Following two midweek one-and-done contests, the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team is off to its best start since the 2002 season.

However, the Crimson Tide will face their biggest challenge of this young season as they travel to Norman, Oklahoma, for a three-game series with the Sooners this weekend. At 9-0, the Crimson Tide will look to leave Norman the same way they arrived: undefeated.

Alabama will be counting on its offense to remain electric, as the Crimson Tide have managed to put up double-digit runs in five of the first nine games this season.

Outfielder Keith Holcombe will look to continue his tear, as he currently leads the team with a .625 batting average and has collected 15 hits in just 24 at-bats to start the year. Last year's second team All-SEC selection Chandler Taylor has also gotten off to a good start by leading the Crimson Tide with three home runs after missing the Valparaiso series due to suspension.

The Sooners currently sit at 4-5 on the year, including a 1-1 split with the Valparaiso team the Crimson Tide swept to start off the season. While Alabama has Holcombe, Oklahoma also has a notable two-sport athlete on their baseball roster in outfielder Kyler Murray, who many expect to win the Sooners' starting quarterback job in 2018. Murray is a former five-star recruit who played one year at Texas A&M before transferring to Oklahoma prior to the 2016 season.

The first game of the series is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a 4 p.m. start time schedule for Saturday's game, and finally the series finale on Sunday is set to start at 12 p.m. (all times are CT). You can watch Friday's opener live over on SoonerSports.com, while the other two games will air on Fox Sports Oklahoma+. And as always, you can stream the Crimson Tide Sports Network broadcast on Tide 102.9/100.9 or the all-new Tide 102.9 app.
