A week into the football season, the only Alabama starting linebacker without an injury is Shaun Dion Hamilton.

Ironically, he was the only player at the position returning from a season-ending injury in 2016. Hamilton will be able to lean on that experience to help his teammates bounce back, especially Christian Miller and Terrell Lewis who are out for the entire season.

"I definitely told them that everybody's going to forget about you and it's going to be a lot of tough days where you don't feel like rehab, you're hurting," Hamilton said. "It's going to suck being on the sidelines, just seeing your teammates playing and you can't play. But I told them God does everything for a reason so, you know, we all just got to have the right mindset.

Now it's the senior's job to help the young players prepare for their opportunity to step in those roles.

"I told all of them yesterday, you know I'm here for y'all. I'm at the complex at all day long if y'all want to get extra film, extra playbook. Let's do it, you know. We've got to keep going."

Fortunately for Alabama, a matchup with 44-point underdog Fresno State should give the team a chance to get a number of players reps on Saturday. That game begins at 2:30 p.m. with pregame coverage starting at 9:30 a.m.
