WATCH: 312-Pound A’Shawn Robinson Leap Over Snapper to Block PAT
A man his size isn't expected to do that.
On the ensuing extra point following an LSU fourth-quarter touchdown Saturday, A'Shawn Robinson, Alabama's 6-foot-4, 312-pound defensive lineman, leaped over the Tigers snapper on the play to block kicker Trent Domingue's attempt.
The block, the second of Robinson's career, came after LSU running back Leonard Fournette found the end zone to pull the Tigers within two scores with 9:18 remaining. The sophomore, who has been widely considered the Heisman Trophy frontrunner this season, had just 31 yards on 19 carries to go along with his score.
The Crimson Tide won 30-16 after running out the clock on the following drive.
Robinson had three total tackles (two for loss) and a pass breakup in the win. He also served as the lead blocker on Derrick Henry's 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
Last season, Robinson blocked an extra point during the fourth quarter of the Crimson Tide's 23-17 loss at Ole Miss.
