Plant (FL)           51           Paul Bryant           21 (Saturday in Mobile)

Paul Bryant faced a tall task going against one of the top high school football teams in Florida during the inaugural Mobil Bay Gridiron Challenge. The task proved to be too tough for the Stampede as they fell to Plant High School Saturday at Mobile’s Ladd Peebles Stadium. Wide receiver Seth Williams was one of the top individual performers for either team as he hauled in three touchdown receptions in the game. Paul Bryant opened the scoring with a 75-yard touchdown pass from Ty’Javian Edwards to Williams. The Stampede receiver added a pair of touchdowns in the second half from quarterback Justin Cannon.

Tuscaloosa County (7A)           56           Northridge (6A)           14

With the game tied 14-14, Wildcats return specialist Randy Echols returned a second quarter kickoff for a touchdown to lead a TCHS rally. Trey Miller and Maurice Henry, Jr. recorded pick sixes for the Wildcats. TCHS running back Frederick Evans scored twice on the ground in the win. Turnovers doomed Northridge as they lost four fumbles in addition to the two interceptions.
