Over the course of 124 years, the Alabama Crimson Tide has been a big contributor in making college football one of the most popular sports in America.

Along the way, Alabama has cemented their place as a powerhouse football program by winning 16 national championships including four under Nick Saban.

With about seven weeks before the start of Alabama’s season, current Atlanta Falcons and ACC football broadcaster Wes Durham provided his insights on Alabama’s successful run under Saban and the prospects of ACC football on Inside the Locker Room.

Durham highlighted Clemson and Florida State as the early favorites to dominate the ACC. However, the veteran college football and NFL broadcaster credited Alabama with setting the bar for the rest of college football.

“He (Nick Saban) has done a marvelous job of building the football program at the University of Alabama

to really in the modern era and the most competitive era of college football to where it’s the gold standard.” Durham said.

Durham later elaborated on the importance of football at Alabama and how Saban displays his  commitment to the program through “the process”.

Inside the Locker Room airs every weekday from 7-9 AM on Tide 102.9 and the radioPup app.
