The College Football Playoff selection committee announced the final rankings of the 2015 season and Alabama will square off against Michigan State in one semifinal.

The Cotton Bowl matchup between the No. 2 Crimson Tide and the No. 3 Spartans will kickoff at 7 PM/CT on New Year's Eve. It will be the second of two semifinals held on the final day of the year. The other semifinal held at the Orange Bowl between Clemson and Oklahoma will begin at 3:00 PM/CT.

Alabama's game against Michigan State will be Nick Saban's second meeting against his former team. These two schools met in the 2011 Capital One Bowl, where Alabama scored six rushing touchdowns on the way to a 49-7 win.

This year's game will feature the SEC Champions versus the Big Ten Champions with both defenses leading the way. Alabama is an early 9-point favorite according to oddsmakers.
