Only two weeks have passed since National Signing Day, but Alabama is already making moves for the 2016 class.

T.J. Simmons, a three-star wide receiver from Clay-Chalkville High School in Pinson, committed to the Crimson Tide on the same day he was offered, according to a tweet sent out by the football program's Twitter account Thursday.

"It's been a dream of T.J.'s all of his life to play at Alabama," Clay-Chalkville coach Jerry Hood told TideSports.com's Andrew Bone. "As the situation happened, he was firm in that he would like to commit if an offer ever came from Alabama. He talked to his mom, and we talked. He said that's where he wanted to go."

The 6-foot-2, 180-pound receiver is Alabama's fourth commitment of the 2016 class. Cornerback Shyheim Carter (Kentwood, Louisiana), athlete Demetris Robertson (Savannah, Georgia) and defensive tackle Raekwon Davis (Meridian, Mississippi) are the other commitments.

As a junior in 2014, Simmons earned ASWA Class 6A all-state honors after hauling in 43 receptions for 987 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Cougars, who won the Class 6A state championship.

Simmons' commitment isn't the first time Clay-Chalkville has had a player attract Division I interest. In the past three years, nine Cougars have signed with programs at the NCAA's highest level, including Simmons' former quarterback, 2014 Cincinnati signee Hayden Moore.

Alabama offensive line coach Mario Cristobal, who was named Rivals.com's 2015 Recruiter of the Year last week, is Simmons' primary recruiter, per 247Sports. Simmons' other offers include Mississippi State, Cincinnati, Southern Miss, South Alabama, Troy, Western Kentucky and Arkansas State.
