David Morris of QBCountry.com joined Ryan Fowler to discuss the development of modern quarterbacks at the high school and collegiate levels, but also to talk about his time with former Tide quarterback A.J. McCarron.

Morris helped coach McCarron as he was coming out of St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, AL, and he had some high praise for the former Tide quarterback.

"A.J.'s one of those guys you feel really good about how he's going to play every game. He's very consistent. You look at his college career, he was very consistent. Some people make playing quarterback look easy, and it's not. I think he's one of those guys."

McCarron was known to some as a "gunslinger," but many scouts and analysts labeled him a "game manager." However, being a game manager isn't necessarily a bad thing. It means a quarterback can control the game, and more importantly, he doesn't turn the ball over. Morris explained how difficult it was to be a great manager, and how McCarron excels at this.

"A lot of people don't know how hard it is to take care of the football. It's somewhat of an art and a discipline, and he knows how to do it."
