Across the Diamond Podcast: Alabama Softball Closes 2018

In search of their 12th appearance in the Women's College World Series, Alabama softball made the trek out to Seattle for redemption against No. 5 Washington.

In game one of the series, Alabama drew first blood thanks to Sydney Booker's two-run double with two outs in the top of the second inning.

The Crimson Tide maintained their 2-0 lead all the way into the seventh inning until the Huskies tied it up with a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh. In extra innings, Washington scored the game-winning run on Taylor Van Zee's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth.

The Huskies followed up their late-game heroics with a dominating 6-0 win Saturday to clinch a WCWS berth.
