Adidas released a video on YouTube today debuting the new 'Shamrock Series' football uniforms that Notre Dame will wear on October 5 against Arizona State. The jerseys feature gold shamrocks on each shoulder and the helmets have a green shamrock outline on each side of the helmet.

Let's not sell the uniform technology short. Here's the official description:

Notre Dame's new uniform features adidas TECHFIT ShockWeb technology, designed to keep players fast, cool and mobile onfield. adidas TECHFIT ShockWeb features engineered body mapping, which maximizes compression zones across the chest and sides, in a lightweight knit structure that provides a tight fit with enhanced range of motion. Signature textured gold helmet with a gold chrome shamrock detail on each side and a kelly green chrome face mask. The Irish will wear adidas Team Speed vertical socks with Crazyquick and adizero 5-Star 2.0 cleats.

Uniform design has become one of the big selling points for high school kids, which is why so many schools have incorporated a number of different uniform combinations. Notre Dame, which has one of the most traditional looks in the sport, has been using an alternate jersey for a number of years now.

Every year, Alabama fans talk about the do's and dont's of new uniforms while the school has maintained it's traditional look with an occasional minuscule tweak. Would you ever support a one time uniform change?
