With less than two weeks away from the A-Day game, the Alabama Crimson Tide is in the process of finding a new quarterback for the third consecutive season.

Al.com’s Matt Scalici offered his opinion on the quarterback situation at Alabama on Inside the Locker Room.

Scalici challenged a piece of conventional wisdom regarding the lack of quality quarterbacks at Alabama and how the position is in better shape than conventional wisdom suggests.

“I think Alabama’s roster at the quarterback position right now is as strong as it has ever been in the school’s history. I think there have been great quarterbacks to come out of Alabama, but I don’t know that they’ve ever had as many highly rated guys as preps that they have right now.“

According to Rivals.com, Blake Barnett, Cooper Bateman, David Cornwell and Jalen Hurts received a four-star ratings coming out of high school.

Presently, the only quarterback on Alabama’s roster with starting experience is Cooper Bateman who started the Ole Miss game last season.
