The Alabama men’s basketball team traveled to North Alabama on Monday to participate in “Liftoff Day” for the Rocket City Classic, which features the Crimson Tide taking on Arkansas State on Wednesday night at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Ala.

After arriving in Huntsville Monday morning, the Crimson Tide was welcomed by dignitaries from the city of Huntsville. Among those in attendance were city councilman Mark Russell, Space & Rocket Center executive director, Dr. Deborah Barnhart and Huntsville mayor Tommy Battle, who is the cousin of Alabama’s Athletics Director, Bill Battle.

Following the ceremony, the Tide student-athletes, coaches and staff joined the children and leaders from the Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama for a tour of one of the state’s top attractions. Once the tour concluded, the team took a group photo with the kids and the Space & Rocket Center tour guides, as well as autographed posters for the entire group.

The Crimson Tide and Red Wolves will tip off on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. CT. The contest will air live on SEC Network.
