The Alabama men's basketball team has gotten off to a good start this season.  They currently sit at 11-3 on the season and 1-0 in SEC play.  However, the road gets tougher ahead as the Tide must travel for the next two games to take on Tennessee and South Carolina.  After that, they return home to host the best team in the country, the Kentucky Wildcats.  And as if it couldn't get any worse, they follow that game with a trip to Arkansas to face a ranked Razorback team.

They begin this rough stretch in Knoxville, TN against a Volunteer squad that has a 9-4 record for the season.  However, those losses came against teams like Kansas, Marquette and NC State, and they have beaten teams like Butler and Kansas State.  The Volunteers are coached by Donnie Tyndall, who previously won 56 games in two seasons while coaching Southern Miss.  Tennessee is averaging 78 points per game while holding opponents to 71.4 points per game.

On Friday, Alabama head coach Anthony Grant spoke to the media about Alabama's preparation for this first road test in SEC play.  He was joined by junior guard Ricky Tarrant and team captain Levi Randolph.
