Alabama men's basketball commitment Terrance Ferguson received the news that he was one of 24 high school players chosen for the 2016 McDonald's All-American team.

Ferguson, a five-star forward from Dallas, tweeted about the honor.

Ferguson could become the first McDonald's All-American to suit up for the Crimson Tide since JaMychal Green turned pro in 2012. Green played on the All-American team in 2008.

Avery Johnson made his first big splash in Tuscaloosa when he secured a verbal commitment from Ferguson last August, but the nation's second-best shooting guard didn't send in his paperwork during the early signing period last year. He's still expected to be a part of the 2016 signing class for Alabama, but left some fans wondering if he would change schools.

The Crimson Tide currently ranks 12th in 247Sports' team rankings thanks to three commitments of four-stars or better.
