Alabama defensive back Geno Smith was arrested and charged with driving under the influence early Saturday morning. According to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office, bond was set at $1,000.

This marks the second DUI charge for the senior. A few weeks before the 2013 season began, Smith was arrested by the UAPD.

“This is obviously not the kind of behavior we expect from our players,” Alabama head coach Nick Saban said at that time.

The Georgia native has been battling for a starting safety position through the first four weeks of spring practice and is considered a favorite by many. Smith recorded 54 total tackles in 2014, which made him the second-leading returning tackler on the Crimson Tide defense.
