Alabama senior offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer earned Southeastern Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week for his performance against Mercer last Saturday, the league office announced on Monday morning. The selection is the first of Hassenauer’s career.

Hassenauer made his first career start on Senior Day against the Bears at Bryant-Denny Stadium over the weekend and earned offensive player of the week honors from the UA coaching staff for his play at left guard and center. The Woodbury, Minn., native graded out at 91 percent and did not allow a sack or pressure while not committing a penalty or a bad snap. He opened holes for 265 rushing yards and two scores and 265 passing yards as Alabama threw for six touchdowns – the second most in school history.
