Alabama Lands Another Top Cornerback for 2016 Class in Jared Mayden

Nick Saban will have plenty of young talent in his defensive backfield to begin working with in 2016. The Crimson Tide landed its third four-star defensive back when Jared Mayden announced his decision on Signing Day.

The Sachse, Texas native originally committed to Oregon last year, but he backed off that pledge in early January. The 6'1", 190-pound cornerback narrowed his choices down to Alabama and Oklahoma before picking the national champions.

Mayden's letter of intent was sent in quickly after his ceremony.
