Inge was expected to be the edge rusher coach at Alabama after it was announced earlier on Monday that Kane Wommack would coach linebackers. Now, the Crimson Tide will search for another.

Austin Price with On3 Sports was the first to report the hiring of Inge by Tennessee. Inge was expected to join Alabama's staff with Kalen DeBoer, following him from Washington. That is no longer the case.

Alabama is in the process of announcing Kalen DeBoer's initial coaching staff, with Robert Gillespie, Freddie Roach, and Kane Wommack announced by the University of Alabama.

Alabama is still expected to announce the remaining hires, but will now search for a new edge rusher coach.

Whoever takes over the Crimson Tide edge coaching position will have a plethora of talent such as Quandarrius Robinson, Keanu Koht, and Keon Keeley, among others to coach up. Alabama's edge rushers have a history of dominance at the college level.

It should be an easy position to lure a coach to, considering Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson Jr. just won Defensive Player of the Year, and Dallas Turner is expected to be a top 15 pick in the 2024 NFL draft.
