Alabama Offensive Line One of Seven Semifinalists for the Joe Moore Award

The Alabama offensive line was selected as one of seven semifinalists for the Joe Moore Award, the Foundation for Teamwork announced Tuesday. The Joe Moore Award is presented annually to the nation's top offensive line unit. Alabama is joined by Auburn, Georgia, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Stanford and Wisconsin on the semifinalists list.

This season, the Alabama offensive line has provided protection for a balanced attack that is averaging 479.2 yards and 41.4 points per game. The Tide ranks in the top-15 nationally in passing efficiency (fourth) scoring (seventh), rushing (ninth) and total offense (15^th). Alabama has topped the 600-yard mark in total offense three times in 2017, which is the second-most occurrences in a season in school history, and has scored in 49 consecutive quarters dating back to last season.

The Joe Moore Award is named after Joe Moore, widely regarded as one of the best offensive line coaches in college football history, and is the only major college football award to honor a unit. The award annually recognizes the nation's most outstanding offensive line unit that best displays toughness, effort, teamwork, physicality, tone setting and finishing. Alabama also won the award in 2015.

Three finalists for this year’s award will be announced Nov. 27.
