The University of Alabama men's basketball team will host its final game of the season in Coleman Coliseum when Maryland comes to town for the quarterfinals of the NIT. The two teams will square off on Tuesday night at 6:30pm CT with the game airing nationally on ESPN.

The meeting will mark the fifth in the series between the two schools but the second in as many seasons. In the opening round of the 2011 Puerto Rico Classic, Alabama picked up its first win ever against the Terrapins by a convincing 64-42 margin.

Maryland finished seventh in the ACC this season after compiling an 8-10 conference record, but did beat Duke twice this year - once in the regular season and again the ACC Tournament. The biggest strength for this Maryland team comes on the boards as they out-rebound opponents by an average of 8.8 per game. Keep an eye on Alex Len, the 7'1" center, who can affect the game tremendously in the paint.

With a win, Alabama would make its seventh trip to the NIT semifinals and second in three years. The Crimson Tide leads the SEC with 23 NIT wins all-time.
