Hawaii quarterback and Alabama commit Tua Tagovailoa earned MVP honors of the 7 on 7 tournament at The Opening after leading his team to a 38-20 win on Sunday. The lefty was also named Elite 11 MVP for his performance in Oregon.

Tagovailoa played alongside fellow Crimson Tide commits Najee Harris, Tyrell Shavers, Markail Benton, VanDarius Cowan and Xavier McKinney for Team Vapor Speed. The quarterback through four first-half touchdowns to close out the event.

Twitter buzzed with praise about Tagovailoa all week, and many people expected him to win the award after the way he performed through the week.

There were plenty of recruiting analysts, coaches, and former players in attendance at the annual event that features some of the top high school football talent in the nation. This is the second time in three years that an Alabama commitment was named MVP of the Elite 11. Crimson Tide sophomore Blake Barnett won in 2014.
