Alabama softball heads into the final weekend of the regular season ranked No. 14 in the USA Today/NFCA poll and No. 15 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, released Tuesday.

The Crimson Tide dropped one spot in each poll from last week. No new teams entered or fell from the top 10 in either poll this week, with Florida, Florida State, Arizona, Minnesota and Oregon holding the top five spots in each poll. Last week, the Crimson Tide defeated Samford on Tuesday before falling in two out of three games on the road against Ole Miss, who is ranked No. 21/21 this week. Alabama is now 39-13 overall and 11-9 in conference play. With a weekend series against No. 9/10 Auburn remaining on the regular-season schedule, the Crimson Tide is currently ranked fifth in the SEC. Alabama is also ranked No. 16 in the NCAA RPI, released Monday.

Alabama is one of nine SEC schools ranked in this week’s top 25. All 13 SEC teams are either ranked or receiving votes in at least one poll this week. Ranked SEC teams include Florida (1/1), Texas A&M (8/6), Auburn (9/10), Tennessee (11/9), Alabama (14/15), Kentucky (16/18), LSU (18/19), Ole Miss (21/21) and Arkansas (24/RV). Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi State and Missouri are each receiving votes outside the top 25.

This weekend, Alabama concludes the regular season with a three-game series against Auburn in Tuscaloosa beginning Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. CT. Saturday’s game will air live on ESPN at 7 p.m. CT and Sunday’s contest will be on ESPN2 at 12 p.m. CT.
