The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its Division I All-Academic Teams for the 2015-16 school year on Thursday and Alabama is ranked No. 11 with a 3.547 team grade point average, the highest of any team GPA from last year’s NCAA tournament.

The Crimson Tide is the highest ranked team from the Southeastern Conference and the highest ranked of any of the 64 teams from last year’s NCAA tournament. Individually, 11 Alabama student-athletes were selected as Easton/NFCA Division-I Scholar-Athletes, including Rachel Bobo, Chandler Dare, Reagan Dykes, Carrigan Fain, Caroline Hardy, Leona Lafaele, Sydney Littlejohn, Haylie McCleney, Madi Moore, Marisa Runyon and Merris Schroder.

Eight of Alabama’s 11 honorees were named to the 2016 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, while the remaining three were selected to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll. For the second-straight year, McCleney was named the CoSIDA Softball Academic All-American of the Year, becoming just the third two-time winner since the award’s inception in 1988.
