After a week of practice at Rhoads Stadium, Alabama softball is set to embark on an 11-day trip to Japan from Wednesday, July 25 until Saturday, Aug. 4.

Throughout the trip, daily posts will be added to a travel blog on RollTide.com along with additional posts on the Alabama softball Twitter (@AlabamaSB), Instagram (BamaSB) and Facebook (Alabama Softball) accounts.

This marks the second international trip for Alabama softball, after traveling to the Netherlands following the 2014 season. Twenty players will be traveling, including 2018 seniors Sydney Booker, Carrigan Fain, Peyton Grantham and Alexis Osorio along with newcomers Kloyee Anderson, Kayla Davis, Montana Fouts and Krystal Goodman.

The trip to Japan coincides with the leadup to the 2018 Women’s World Softball Championship in Chiba, the same city where the Crimson Tide will be staying. Alabama will have an opportunity to play a pair of exhibition doubleheaders against the New Zealand and Great Britain national teams and watch Team USA compete, including Tide alum and national team member Haylie McCleney.

The team will have a number of sightseeing opportunities along the way, including downtown Tokyo, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Miyajima.
