Series History: Saturday marks the 81st overall meeting between these two programs dating back to the 1895 season. Alabama leads 50-25-5, including five straight and seven out of nine. But the games have been tightly contested. Six of the 10 games that Nick Saban has coached at Alabama have been decided by seven points or fewer.

Last Meeting: 2015 featured another top-5 matchup between Alabama and LSU. The Tigers came to Bryant-Denny Stadium undefeated and with the Heisman Trophy frontrunner in Leonard Fournette. The Crimson Tide defense held him to 31 yards on 19 carries while Derrick Henry broke out for 210 yards and three touchdowns and the Heisman race was flipped. No. 4 Alabama would go on to defeat No. 2 LSU, 30-16.

Last Week: Both Alabama and LSU enjoyed a bye week as they prepared for this annual slugfest. The last time they played, Alabama beat No. 6 Texas A&M, 33-14, while LSU knocked off No. 23 Ole Miss, 38-21.
