Alabama defensive lineman Quinnen Williams has been named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week on defense for his performance in the Crimson Tide’s 29-0 win at LSU on Saturday evening. The Walter Camp Football Foundation announced the award on Sunday.

Williams turned in a career performance against Tigers, tallying career highs in tackles (10) and sacks (2.5) while equaling his career-best mark in tackles for loss (3.5). He led an Alabama defense that limited LSU to 196 yards in total offense and kept the Tigers off the scoreboard for the first time this season. LSU was averaging 383.6 yards and 30.4 points per game coming into the contest.

The Birmingham, Ala., native leads the Alabama defensive line in tackles this season with 43 to go with a team-high 12.0 tackles for loss (-49 yards) and 4.0 sacks (-26 yards). Williams is also second on the squad in quarterback hurries with nine to go with one pass breakup in 2018.

Pittsburgh running back Darrin Hall joined Williams as the Walter Camp National Player of the Week on offense.
