I'm blessed to be starting my 25th year in broadcasting, which includes 11 seasons as the University of Alabama's men's basketball play-by-play announcer for the Crimson Tide Sports Network. In addition to my role as the voice of Crimson Tide Basketball, I also serve as the sideline reporter for CTSN's radio coverage of Crimson Tide Football and as the television host of "The Nick Saban Show". I'm also the radio play-by-play announcer for Bama Baseball, having followed the Tide on the diamond since the 2000 season. My additional work includes CSS, ESPN Regional, and Fox Sports South.

From the Sideline — Why Gaspard Result Went Beyond Wins and Losses
Shane Lyons had only been on the job as Deputy Athletics Director and COO at Alabama for about three months when the two of us sat down for a pregame meal in Kansas City, MO, prior to a basketball matchup between the Crimson Tide and Kansas State...
From the Sideline – Alabama Baseball with Plenty at Stake the Next Two Weeks
“And down the stretch they come!”
It’s a phrase you heard last weekend in Louisville at the Kentucky Derby. It’s also one that would have fit in Lexington during the extra innings of Sunday’s SEC Baseball game between the Wildcats and league co-leader South Carolina...
From the Sideline — Bouncing Back After a Tough Series Loss at Texas A&M
Losses are never easy, especially when you feel like you could have won.
That's the feeling Alabama had to endure when the Tide got on their charter flight back from College Station to Tuscaloosa Sunday afternoon.
Mitch's Gaspard's team looked like it would get overwhelmed when Texas A&M jumped out to 3-0 lead in the Friday night opener. Bu...
From the Sideline – How A-Day has Changed During Saban’s 10 Years
There's not a ton to learn from an A-day scrimmage. There is, however, a lot to learn about A-Day weekend.

From the Sideline — Tough Day in Tuscaloosa
Call it a rough day at the office.
Two games. Two disappointing losses.
My Saturday started with men's basketball at Coleman Coliseum. The walk into the arena was really cool. Beautiful, warm (for February) morning. A lot of people walking around, enjoying the day and gawking over the new home for Alabama Baseball, on its old site...
From the Sideline — Alabama’s Win at Florida was a Special One
Alabama trailed at halftime Saturday in Gainesville, 27-23. There was certainly nothing unusual about that. It's happened many, many times for Bama teams over the past 21 years.
Just prior to the start of the second half, I looked at Wendell Hudson - one of the greatest players in the history of the Crimson Tide, and one of the greatest people you will ever meet - and said, "We're going to wi
From the Sideline — Alabama Fans Have a Lot to Enjoy During the Spring
I realize that a lot of Alabama fans are going through withdrawals right now.
Football is more than 200 days away.
That stings to even think about, but it's ok. If you're an Alabama Football fan, you have to wait till A-Day.
But, if you're an ALABAMA fan, there's plenty to keep you busy...
From the Sideline — Better Days are Ahead for Basketball
It was all laid out to be a perfect day for Alabama Basketball.
