It didn't take long for word to get back to Alabama head coach Avery Johnson that one of his assistants said he could take him 1-on-1 if they played right now.

Assistant coach Antoine Pettway joined 'Inside the Locker Room' with Wimp and Barry Sanderson on Tuesday to talk about the start to the 2016-17 season. Before the interview ended, Barry asked him who would win if he and Coach Johnson played to 10 counting by one.

"I'm surprised you'd even ask that, Barry," Pettway said. "I would definitely blow him out, 10 to 0."

But Pettway was smart to leave himself a little wiggle room.

"On the other hand, if he got the ball first he may beat me 10-0 because we're both bad defenders right now."

Well, word traveled fast to Coleman Coliseum and during practice on Wednesday, Johnson surprised Pettway and the team by playing the audio. This is what happened next.

The head coach got the best of matchup and quickly pulled the veteran move by ending the game after taking a 1-0 lead. As you can see in the video, the team had a lot of fun watching the two former point guards get after it.

You can hear Pettway's comments from the interview starting around the 11:47 mark of the video at the top of the page. Make sure you catch the rest of the conversation because Pettway provides some great insight into this year's team as well as the top 5 signing class Alabama is bringing in.

'Inside the Locker Room' can be heard every weekday from 7-9AM.
