While Americans get set to fire up the grills, shoot the fireworks and celebrate our country’s independence, athletes across Major League Baseball are getting ready for a big week of baseball.

Prior to the close of June, Jimmy Nelson tied a season high with 11 strikeouts in his victory Thursday night at Cincinnati.

Another former Alabama star also had one of his best weeks of the season. Tuscaloosa native David Robertson notched a win and a save this past week against the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers.

For the week, find out how Alabama’s other big league players fared over the past week.
