With hours remaining until signing day, the Alabama Crimson Tide received a verbal commitment from cornerback Nigel Knott out of Madison, Mississippi. Knott is ranked as the 51st best recruit overall in the country according to Rivals.com.

John Garcia, Jr. stated on The Game with Ryan Fowler that Knott’s commitment is a big one for Alabama. Garcia elaborated that the commitment is big because Knott is from an area the Crimson Tide has struggled in recruiting, is a critical cornerback recruit along with his overall athleticism.

Garcia also believes that Alabama will have a big finish on signing day.

“It’s going to be a big finish. Right now, Bama is on the outside of the top 5 nationally, but it will be closer to number one, if not number one, 48 hours from right now.”

With Knott’s commitment, Alabama has 17 commitments for the 2016 signing class.
