Earlier this week, assistant coaches on the Alabama football coaching staff saw new contracts approved by the University of Alabama Board of Trustees.

Both offensive coordinator Mike Locksley and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi will be cashing in on three-year contracts that take their annual salaries over $1 million.

During Tuesday's "Buy or Sell" segment of The Blitz, former Alabama fullback Martin Houston discussed the various aspects of the recent new contracts.

To start the "Buy or Sell" segment, the former Crimson Tide fullback examined whether Scott Cochran is underpaid as the football program's strength and conditioning coach.

"It's hard to say a strength coach that is being paid almost $600,000 is underpaid." Houston said. "I'm going to say sell that he is underpaid."

Houston analyzed the value that Cochran brings to Alabama football.

"I think his value is unbelievable, and I think in the soft skill side of things, he has the hardest job." Houston said.

Later in the segment, the host of The Blitz answered a listener question concerning Cochran's potential to reel in $1 million as a strength coach before Saban retires and whether Texas A&M paid too much money to land Jimbo Fisher from Florida State.

The Blitz with Martin Houston kicks off every weekday morning from 6-7 AM on Tide 102.9/100.9 and the Tide 102.9 app.
