It seems like a dumb thing to do, but Carolina Panther starting quarterback Cam Newton took a nice little shot at Tom Brady, in reference to the Deflategate scandal.

Okay, we've all made our fair share of Deflategate jokes over the past few months (some are very NSFW), but I don't think Newton really needs to be letting out hot air about this. The Panthers barely won the lowly NFC South last season (a tie allowed them to advance), so it's not like it was a huge accomplishment by any means.

During a practice session at a 7 on 7 tournament at the IMG Academy that he was hosting, Newton took a snap from what appears to be either a camper or coach (it's really difficult to tell in the video), but soon realized that the ball may have been slightly flat.

Like most people in that situation, he did toss it to the ground to not use, but before he discarded it, he made sure to get in a quick jab at Tom Brady.

Cam is talented, there's no question about that, but it's kinda hard to make that joke when you can barely win seven games in a season in one of the worst divisions in the NFL.

Maybe Cam knew he wouldn't be playing Brady this year until potentially the Super Bowl (HA!), so he wouldn't have to face the wrath of Brady come next season.

Regardless, it was still pretty quick and clever of Newton, I'll give him that much at least.
