Alabama basketball has just four games remaining until they head to Nashville for the SEC Tournament while Alabama football is a few weeks away from opening spring practice.

During Tuesday's edition of The Blitz, Martin Houston and DC from Golden Shores Productions looked at the football and basketball programs on a number of topics including their identities.

Saturday night, Alabama basketball snapped a three-game losing streak with a 68-61 victory over Vanderbilt.

While acknowledging the importance of the win to end a losing streak, DC was still concerned about the team's effort in the game.

"I don't think we played a great game in that game. I wasn't impressed with the effort that we gave in the game. Again, I think we had the same issues in this game that we had in the losses, just were able to overcome a lesser opponent." DC said.

The Alabama football observer touched on various mental mistakes being made from the players and coaches but also brought up the lack of identity on offense.

"I'm not sure that offensively we really know what kind of team we are and it's so late in the season. That kind of concerns me." DC said.

On the football field, Alabama has had a reputation for bruising running games. This past season, the offense utilized the passing game much more with the talents of Tua Tagovailoa and the crop of receivers and tight ends. According to DC, figuring how to properly utilize the numerous options on the roster proved to be an issue with the team's identity.

"Not really, I think we were torn a little bit by how we were going to get the ball down the field, and I think we were looking at passing the ball, then trying to run the ball, and we really didn't have a good identity." DC said.

The duo later broke down areas of improvement for Tua and if the defense will be better for 2019.
