Cecil Hurt, of The Tuscaloosa News, joined Host of "Southern Fried Sports" Travis Reier Tuesday morning to discuss some of the predicted college football over and unders, react to the rumor that Texas passed on hiring Nick Saban after his third national championship season at Alabama, and congratulates the U19 basketball team on winning gold.

"Would like to have seen Kira get some more playing time," Hurt told Travis when discussing the U19 team's gold medal performance. "They dominated everybody that they played, so hard to argue with."

Reier and Hurt also briefly reacted to the rumor that Texas passed on hiring Nick Saban after a lunch with former head coach Mack Brown.

"Let me boil this down to one thing," Hurt told Reier. "Did he (Tom Hicks) fire Mack?" "Can't hire the guy, if you can't fire the guy. If you don't have enough stuff to get the coach out, that you want out. Then what are you talking about?"

"There's not an interesting ACC game on the schedule," Hurt told Reier when comparing SEC and ACC conference schedules. "There's not one. I mean there are some that are gonna be close, but what game do you talk about? What game are you looking forward to the most on Clemson's schedule?"
