Former Auburn and NBA basketball star Charles Barkley has never been one to filter what comes out of his mouth. Many people love him for it, and he often finds a way to make headlines.

That was the case on Wednesday when the NBA on TNT anaylst appeared on The Dan Patrick Show and started talking about Cam Newton. The Carolina Panthers star has been a polarizing figure in sports dating back to his college career, and Barkley had some fun with that.

"As I always said, if we gave Cam Newton $200,000 to come to Auburn, boy that was a good investment," Barkley told Patrick. "I wish my financial people had good investments like that."

Of course he was referencing the NCAA investigation into Newton and his father receiving money to attend Auburn, which the school was cleared of any wrongdoing.

Newton will face off against another former SEC quarterback in Super Bowl 50 next week when the Panthers meet the Broncos.
