Auburn took a two-game winning streak on the road to Athens, but saw their recent success crash to the tune of a 27-10 defeat to No. 5 Georgia.

The Tigers scored their first and only touchdown of the game when running back Jatarvious Whitlow lined up as the wildcat quarterback and found tight end John Shenker in the back of the end zone for a nine-yard touchdown toss.

Georgia struggled early in the red zone managing two short field goals from Rodrigo Blankenship.

After Andres Carlson's 27-yard field goal put Auburn up 10-6 with 7:46 to go in the first half, momentum swung to Georgia.

Sophomore signal caller Jake Fromm delivered a pair of touchdown passes including a 38-yard scoring toss to Terry Godwin on fourth and three with 21 seconds left until halftime.

Sophomore Jonathan Swift capped off the scoring with a 77-yard sprint for six.

Swift finished the evening with 17 carries for 186 yards and a touchdown. As a team, Georgia rushed for 303 yards compared to 102 for Auburn.

Auburn closes out the home schedule Saturday at 3 PM against Liberty.

Troy and UAB Continue Championship Marches

The Troy Trojans and UAB Blazers took one step closer toward a conference title with come from behind victories over Georgia Southern and Southern Miss respectively.

The Trojans trailed 14-3 through the first quarter but pulled it together with 14 points in the second quarter, 11 in the third and a touchdown in the final stanza.

Trojans quarterback Sawyer Smith threw for 287 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions.

Meanwhile, the UAB Blazers escaped with a 26-23 overtime victory over Conference USA rival Southern Miss to secure a spot in the C-USA Championship Game.

The Blazers trailed 13-7 at halftime but scored 13 points in the third quarter to take a 20-13 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

The Golden Eagles tied the game on a two-yard touchdown run from Steven Anderson to send the contest to overtime.

Southern Miss scored a 37-yard field goal in overtime but UAB's Spencer Brown found the end zone from 17 yards out to win the game.

UAB travels to Texas A&M Saturday for a 6 PM kickoff on ESPN2 while Troy hosts Texas State Saturday for Senior Day at 2:30 PM.
