Four members of the Alabama Crimson Tide football team: Amari Cooper, AJ McCarron, CJ Mosley, and TJ Yeldon have been named as members of the Maxwell Award Watch List on Monday. The award is presented yearly to the college football player of the year and was won last season by Manti Te'o.

Cooper, entering his sophomore year, made a splash in his inaugural season in Tuscaloosa, leading the team in every major receiving category. After starting the season a slow and steady pace, Cooper hauled in 8 catches and 2 touchdown passes against Ole Miss at the end of September before exploding three weeks later against Tennessee with a 7 catch, 162 yard, 2 touchdown performance.

Throwing to Cooper is one of the most winningest quarterbacks in Alabama history AJ McCarron who enters his third season as a starter with just two losses under his belt. With one of the most talented receiving corps in the country in 2013, McCarron will look to improve on last season's stat line when he completed nearly 70% of his passes for 2900 yards, and 30 touchdowns while throwing just 3 interceptions.

As McCarron is the leader on offense, there is no question Mosley is the leader on defense for Alabama. Holding down the inside of the defense, Mosley led the team in tackles last season with 107 adding 8 tackles for loss and 4 sacks.

Finally rounding out the list of watch list is sophomore running back TJ Yeldon who rushed for 1100 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. While Yeldon made a name for himself rushing the ball it was his first receiving touchdown that may be his most memorable, securing a 21-17 victory over LSU.

Alabama is the most represented team on the list. The Maxwell Award will be given out on December 12th.
