Rece Davis didn't confirm it. He didn't deny it, either.

During his appearance on Birmingham podcast The Next Round  Wednesday, ESPN's Davis, host of College GameDay for both football and basketball, hinted at a possible visit to Tuscaloosa.

"We're stepping outside the norm this week, by going to UConn which is not a game on an ESPN platform," Alabama grad Davis said. "I certainly can't say—we haven't made a final decision—but a trip to Tuscaloosa is something that's certainly attractive and very high on the board at this point."

The date The Next Round hosts were querying Davis about is March 2, the day No. 13 Alabama hosts No. 5 Tennessee in Coleman Coliseum for their rematch after the Tide got mauled in Knoxville back in January.

The Tide/Vols match could determine who cuts down the nets as the regular season SEC champion. Bama leads now, but the Volunteers sit right behind them in second.

"I can't say, but I would just encourage people not to book their calendars too early on Saturday prior to the [Tennessee] game, leave some room for perhaps a really nice event that might unfold there, should certain things fall a certain way," Davis said. "Is that veiled enough for you?"

Yes, Rece. That's a pretty strong hint.

College GameDay normally announces its location for the next week during each week's show, so Alabama fans can find out if the program will make its way to Tuscaloosa for the first time ever during basketball season this coming Saturday.
