In Alabama football's storied history, legendary coaching figures including Wallace Wade, Frank Thomas, Paul "Bear" Bryant, Gene Stallings and Nick Saban have guided the Crimson Tide to 17 national championships.

Alabama has also gone through adverse situations including two probations in the 12 years prior to Nick Saban's arrival in Tuscaloosa.

The two probationary periods exemplified the football program's struggle to move forward from Coach Bryant's 25-year run.

From Bryant's retirement in 1982 to the hiring of Nick Saban in 2007, Alabama went through seven head coaches.

One of Coach Bryant's former players and one of Clemson's legendary coaches looked ahead to what the future for Alabama football could look like once Nick Saban retires.

Danny Ford stepped Inside the Locker Room to survey the futures of post-Nick Saban Alabama football and Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney.

The former Clemson head coach examined the various aspects of Swinney's future including the resources at Clemson and the pressure involved in following an icon like Saban.

Ford also looked back to how Clemson struggled in finding a replacement for Ford and how Alabama also struggled to find a suitable replacement for Bryant.
