Alabama basketball begins their SEC Tournament journey today in the 2nd round against the Ole Miss Rebels.

Earlier this season, the Crimson Tide throttled the Rebels 74-53 in Tuscaloosa on January 22. Since that game, Alabama lost eight of their next 13 games to finish 10th in the Southeastern Conference while Ole Miss ended in a tie for sixth with Mississippi State in conference play.

Meanwhile on the home front, Alabama football is enjoying spring break after starting spring practice on March 8. One of the positions that Nick Saban is looking to solidify is at tight end. The Tide lost Hale Hentges to graduation and Irv Smith, Jr. to the NFL Draft.

During Thursday's "Deal or No Deal" segment of The Blitz, former Alabama fullback Martin Houston examined Avery Johnson's future at Alabama and what the tight end position could look like this fall for Alabama football.

Houston provided his thoughts on Cameron Latu working at tight end during last week's first practice of the spring, how the FBI investigation into college basketball could affect whether Johnson returns for a fifth season in Tuscaloosa and if Alabama needs to get to Sunday's SEC Tournament title game to feel secure about landing an NCAA Tournament bid.
