The Philadelphia Eagles have been busy this offseason with extensions for former Crimson Tide stars. First, Landon Dickerson signed a huge deal that locked him into Philadelphia for many years to come, solidifying his spot as the team's starting left guard. Dickerson could potentially compete for the starting center job to replace Hall of Famer Jason Kelce.

the Eagles continue to stay busy on the extension trail. According to Ian Rappoport, Philadelphia has extended former Alabama first-round pick DeVonta Smith to a three-year, $75 million contract, while also picking up Smith's fifth-year option. This keeps the rising star in Philadelphia until 2028.

Smith was an all-star during his time at Alabama. His first action on the big stage as a true freshman, the 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship against the Georgia Bulldogs, Smith caught a touchdown on 2nd and 26 to elevate the Tide over the Bulldogs. Three years later, Smith would win his second ring, as well as Alabama's third Heisman Trophy, en route to a record-setting performance against Ohio State in the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship.

During his time at Alabama, Smith recorded 3,965 yards and 46 touchdowns. Smith's senior season is where he really shined, sweeping the college football postseason awards. he won the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award, SEC Offensive Player of the Year, Maxwell Award, Biletnikoff Award, AP Player of the Year, and the Heisman Trophy. Smith was also a Consensus All-American in 2020.

After he finished dominating the world of college football, Smith was the 10th overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

So far in the NFL, he's recorded 1,000 yards or more twice and totaled 3,178 yards across three seasons. He has 19 touchdowns to his career so far. In Super Bowl 57, Smith led all receivers with 100 receiving yards in the loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Smith is the second option in the Eagles offense that features former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts. Ole Miss wide receiver A.J Brown is the top target, but Smith still finds ways to shine in that offense.
