Beginning with Alabama's first ever trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium in 1989, one man has been the soundtrack for Crimson Tide listeners for three decades.

The Voice of the Crimson Tide Eli Gold will call his 30th Iron Bowl for the Crimson Tide Sports Network as the Tigers enter Bryant-Denny Stadium for a 2:30 PM kickoff.

Gold stepped Inside the Locker Room to provide his insights when it comes to preparing for an Alabama football broadcast in addition to the journeys that he has taken as a play-by-play broadcaster and his favorite memories of the series.

The veteran Alabama play-by-play voice for three decade explained why the Iron Bowl stands out as a rivalry compared to others across the country including the bragging rights involved in the series and how the rivalry and college football is the center of attention in the state of Alabama.

Among the most memorable games since 1989, Gold listed the Crimson Tide's first trip to Auburn in 1989, Freddie Kitchen's touchdown pass to Dennis Riddle in 1996, the program's first ever win in Jordan-Hare Stadium in 1999 and the Kick Six game in 2013 among his most memorable games to call behind the play-by-play microphone.

You can hear Eli Gold's play-by-play call of Alabama football every Saturday during football season on Tide 102.9/100.9 and the Tide 102.9 app.
