It's a new day in Gainesville. Following a disappointing tenure for Will Muschamp, Jim McElwain takes over a program used to being at the top of the SEC, but has fallen on hard times.  McElwain, a former offensive coordinator for Nick Saban at Alabama who found success as a head coach at Colorado State, has quite a rebuilding project ahead of him.

That's not to say that the talent is bare at Florida. Their defense returns quality starters, including Vernon Hargreaves III (who might be the best corner in the country) and Jonathan Bullard (an All-SEC caliber defensive lineman), both of whom were in Hoover today.  However, they will need to find playmakers on offense, and need consistency from the quarterback, something that haunted Muschamp for four years.

McElwain spoke at his first SEC Media Days as head coach today.  As mentioned earlier, he was joined by sensational CB Vernon Hargreaves III.
