The Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will meet in Miami on January 7th for the BCS national championship.

Alabama saw its share of ups and downs this season, starting the season near the top of the rankings, rising to the top spot, then slipping after a loss to Texas A&M before jumping back into the national championship picture. Notre Dame on the other hand was a team that took a different path to the championship game. Tim O'Malley of Irish Eyes Magazine joined The Game and said for the Irish, it was a long climb to the top.

Now, heading into the national championship game, O'Malley pointed out that Notre Dame may be number one, but there is a number of points this team can not afford to give up.
