Former Alabama Golfer Emma Talley Earns LPGA Tour Card

Former Alabama women’s golfer Emma Talley earned her LPGA Tour card over the weekend with a second-place finish at the Symetra Tour Championship at the Jones Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.

“This year was a huge learning experience,” Talley said. “There were several ups and downs during the season, but I fought hard and was able to earn my card. I’m so grateful to accomplish my dream!”

Talley’s runner-up finish clinched a ninth-place finish on the Symetra Tour’s earnings list this season to earn her card for next season. The top-10 finishers on the Symetra earnings list each season receive LPGA cards.

“Emma Talley is one of the most decorated student-athletes to come through our program,” UA head coach Mic Potter said. “She is also one of the most caring and sincere people I have ever met. Emma deserves to compete on the LPGA Tour, the LPGA Tour needs more young ladies like Emma. I’m very proud of her.”

Talley, who played at Alabama from 2012-16, won individual medalist honors at the 2015 NCAA Championships and captured the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 2013, becoming the first Crimson Tide golfer to accomplish both feats. In 2015, she was honored with the Honda Sports Award for women’s golf.

Talley will become the ninth Tide golfer – and the sixth under Potter - to play on the LPGA Tour when she makes her debut. She will join three former Tide golfers currently competing on the Tour – Jennifer Kirby, Stephanie Meadow and Brooke Pancake.
