Former Alabama Offensive Lineman Wesley Britt Reviews Hunter Brannon’s UA Commitment [Audio]
Over the weekend, the Alabama Crimson Tide added two more commitments for the 2017 signing class. Defensive back Jhavonte Dean and offensive lineman Hunter Brannon both made the decision to commit to the Crimson Tide.
For Brannon, it marks the continuation of a family tradition. The native of Cullman, Alabama, follows the line of former Alabama players and uncles Wesley, Justin and Taylor Britt in suiting up in the crimson and white.
During Monday’s edition of The Gary Harris Show, Wesley Britt looked back on his nephew’s decision and the reasons for Brannon’s commitment to Alabama.
The former Crimson Tide lineman mentioned Brannon’s love and passion for Alabama, his hard-nosed attitude on the field and what he can bring to the table at the collegiate level.
Britt detailed Brannon’s plans relative to coming to Alabama.
“I know no mention of a grey shirt at this point. I haven’t heard anything about that and as far as I know, the full intentions are for Hunter (Brannon) to enroll. He’ll graduate in December and be an early enrollee, and get ready to play football, and make an impact where he can, as early as he can and as often as he can.” Britt said.
He described how Brannon earned his opportunity to come to Alabama through his athletic ability.
“This was something that they’ve been evaluating Hunter for a long time totally based on him and his efforts. There has been no mention of me or my brothers on what we were able to do at Alabama. It was purely on what Hunter’s done on the field and how he’s improved.” Britt said.
Britt elaborated on the numerous opportunities that Brannon took to showcase himself in front of the Alabama coaches.
“He went to three of four Alabama football camps every time he could this year to show his improvement, to show what he could do and each time he grew. He actually got taller and got bigger and quicker.” Britt said.
The former Alabama offensive lineman relayed the impressions that the coaches had on Brannon, Justin Britt’s involvement in Brannon’s development and the importance for him to be a good teammate.
